The 10 Commandments

Hi everyone and welcome back to Christchurch Kids. We hope you've had a good week.

Today we are looking at when Moses spoke to God and God gave him the 10 commandments. You might have heard of the 10 commandments already. Let's hear about them in today's video.

We've heard in today's story that  God gave Moses the 10 commandments to show ...

how to love God,
how to treat each other,
and
how to be part of God's team.

That sounds like good things to listen to.

The 10 commandments are like road signs. They show us safe ways to journey through life.

Let's have a look at what the 10 commandments are..

1. Love God more than anything else

2. Make God most important

3. Say God's name with love and respect

4. Honour God by resting on the last day of the week.

5. Love, honour and respect your mum and dad.

6. Do not hurt others

7. Be faithful to your husband or wife.

8. Do not take anything that isn't yours.

9. Always tell the truth.

10. Be happy with what you have and don't wish for other people's things.

God gave us these commandments because he He loves us so much and knows what is best for us.

These are good rules to follow. It isn't always easy to follow them and we can ask God to help us.

 Our Activity Book

If you are new to the Christchurch Kids blog and would like an activity book, please email Emy at childrenandfamilies@christchurch-clevedon.org.uk

We can have a look in our activity books now and find the pages about the 10 commandments.

We have a fun activity today that you can cut out of your book.

You can make an origami Chatterbox with the 10 commandments on.

Prayer

Do you have any bubbles in your house?

Just like the Israelites in today's story, we can get things wrong and we don't always follow God's commandments.

The good news is that we can say sorry to God and He will forgive us for the times we have got things wrong.

Get out your pot of bubbles and say sorry to God for something. Blow some bubbles and watch them float away and pop as a sign that God forgives you and you can start again.

We've got a great song to share together today. It's called "The Boss of Me". Does that sound strange that we want someone to be the Boss of us? The brilliant thing is that because we know God is completely good and completely trustworthy we can totally trust Him that He knows best for us in our lives.
He can be "The Boss of Me" because I know He loves me.

Thanks for popping by today. We hope you can join us here next week for F@CT Online as we have fun together and find out more about Lent with puppets, songs, prayers and crafts.

In the Wilderness

Hi everyone and Happy Valentines Day! We hope you have a good day spent with people you love. Thank you to everyone who sent in Valentines cards for the residents of our local care homes. We love sharing God's love with people in our town.

We've already been on quite a journey with Moses. Our video today starts with a recap of the amazing things we've already heard about.

Moses has led the Israelites out of Egypt and now they are following God through the desert but their tummies start rumbling and so they start grumbling.

Let's watch the video and see how God helped them.

God is amazing! The Israelites were in the desert with no food and they complained to Moses. Moses went to speak to God about it and God heard their prayers.

God sent something called "manna" each morning. It was described as "bread from heaven" and it was said to taste like honey. That sounds like a great breakfast to me. I love honey on my toast. Manna was also described as "thin flakes" so maybe it was a bit like Frosties!

In the evenings, God sent quail to the camp (these are small birds) so that the Israelites would have meat to eat too.

God gave them rules about collecting the food. They were told to only collect enough for that day, apart from on the sixth day when they were to collect enough for two days. If they collected too much food, it would turn mouldy the next day.

God was helping the Israelites but they needed to trust Him. It also shows us how important God thinks it is to rest one day a week. This rest day is called a Sabbath. Jews have their rest day on a Friday evening until Saturday evening and most Christians have their rest day on a Sunday.

When we look at the stories in the Bible, we aren't just finding out about things that have happened it the past. We are learning about what God is like and what that means for us today.
In this story we can see that God cares for us. He listens to our prayers and he cares if we are feeling hungry or thirsty or tired.

It says in the Bible...

Do not worry about anything. But pray and ask God for everything you need. And when you pray, always give thanks.

Philippians 4:6

(You may have noticed another part of the story in the video. We'll come back and look at the 10 commandments in a couple of weeks).

Our Activity Book

If you are new to the Christchurch Kids blog and would like an activity book, please email Emy at childrenandfamilies@christchurch-clevedon.org.uk

We can have a look in our activity books now and find the pages about living in the wilderness.

Prayer

These prayers are based on prayers from the Flame Creative blog

Today, we have been hearing about manna or bread from heaven so we're going to use bread in our prayers. You will need a small piece of bread for these prayers (or you can imagine a piece of bread as you talk to God).

Tear off a piece of the bread.
We can pray for those who are living in places torn apart by war. We can pray for those people whose families are having to live apart.
We can ask God for peace and healing in these places.

Hold your bread in your hand.
We can pray for people who are feeling lonely. We can ask that they will know God is with them and that they are not alone.

Eat a piece of your bread.
We can thank God that we have enough to eat. We can ask God to help those who are hungry. We can pray for people who are running the food bank and Make Lunch who are helping people to have enough to eat.

Amen

We've got a great song to sing together today. It's got fun actions and bit of dancing too.
We sang it last week at F@CT Online as we talked about how generous God is and it's a great one to sing today as we praise God that He loves us and gives us all that we need.

Thank you for joining us today. We hope you have a great half term.

Have you heard about our Easter play?
We had so much fun putting together our online Nativity play that we are putting something together for Easter Day. A bit of acting or narrating could be a great activity for half term!
If you would like to get involved, please email Emy at childrenandfamilies@christchurch-clevedon.org.uk

The Story Keepers - Starlight Escape

Hello Story Keepers and welcome back to Christchurch Kids. Today is the first Sunday in Advent. It's a really special time at church when we got ready for Jesus coming at Christmas. It looks like the Story Keepers are getting ready for Christmas too. Let's watch today's episode together.

It's great that we can be Story Keepers too. By watching the video and learning the stories from the Bible we can share them with others and pass them on. Today, maybe it's enough to watch this video. If you would like to find out a bit more, keep reading...

Our BIG question today is...

how well do you know the Christmas story?

We've been on quite a journey with the Story Keepers over the past couple of months. In 64 A.D., sharing stories was the best way to share the good news of Jesus. They didn't have the stories of Jesus written down in Bibles that they could keep in their homes and pass to others.

The Bible is full of fantastic stories about people who did amazing things with God's help. Which story is your favourite? Daniel in the Lion's Den? David and Goliath? Jonah and the whale? Maybe the Christmas Story is your favourite?

The very best thing about Bible stories is not just that they are inspiring or exciting to read but that they are a way for God to speak to us today.

Did you hear anything today in the The Story Keepers episode that surprised you? Did you know that some people think the Wise Men could have arrived two years after Jesus was born?

Sometimes, if we think we know a story well, we might stop listening when it is retold. This Christmas, listen carefully to the stories and songs. God wants to talk to you.

Prayer

In the episode today we heard that Mary, Joseph and Jesus had to leave their home to escape the danger from Herod's soldiers. They had to leave their friends and family and escape to Egypt. They became refugees.

A refugee is someone who has been forced to leave their home. It might be because of war or natural disasters. It might be because of persecution, which is when some is mistreated or punished for what they believe or who they are. You may see stories of refugees on the news today.

We know God cares as it says in Deuteronomy 10

The Lord your God is God of all gods. He is the Lord of all lords. He is the great God. He is strong and wonderful. He does not take sides.  He helps orphans and widows. He loves foreigners. He gives them food and clothes.

We can pray for refugees and for the charities that help them. This video can help us with our prayers today.

We've got a great song today which features some of those brilliant Bible stories we talked about earlier. Let's praise God together with singing and dancing.

We hope you have enjoyed following the adventures of the Story Keepers as this was our last episode with them.

Join us this week on the blog as we start our very own online Advent Calendar! From the 1st of December we are going to be following the Three Kings as they find their way around Clevedon.
Pop back here each day to see what they've been up to.

Next week we are starting to get really excited about Christmas with F@CT online and F@CT in church. If you would like to book your place for F@CT in church, please click here.

We hope you have a great week.

The Story Keepers - Tricked by a traitor

Hello and welcome back to Christchurch Kids. We are continuing to watch The Story Keepers together today. The Romans have worked out that Ben the baker is helping Christians to escape. The family soon find themselves in danger but who can they trust to help them? Let's watch together and find out.

It's great that we can be Story Keepers too. By watching the video and learning the stories from the Bible we can share them with others and pass them on. Today, maybe it's enough to watch this video. If you would like to find out a bit more, keep reading...

Our BIG question today is...

What does forgiveness feel like?

In today's episode,  Helena told the children the story of a woman who came to visit Jesus. Let's listen to that story again.

How do you think the woman in the story felt when Jesus reached down and spoke to her?

How did she feel when she heard him talk about her to the others in the room who had been so unkind?

The Bible tells us  that this woman was sinful, meaning that everyone knew she had done things wrong. The Bible also tells us that everyone gets things wrong, except Jesus. The word used in the Bible for this is 'sin'. Sin means anything which isn't perfect, just as God is perfect.

Do you think that maybe the other people in the room with Jesus forgot that they get things wrong as well?

The amazing news is that when we say sorry to God, He forgives us. It is wiped away and gone forever, like dirt washed away in a shower. Our big question today is - what does forgiveness feel like? For the woman in the story it felt like the best sort of love. What do you think it feels like?

But if we confess our sins, he will forgive our sins. We can trust God. He does what is right. He will make us clean from all the wrongs we have done.

1 John 1 : 9

Prayer

Today we are going to be thinking about forgiveness prayers. We can ask God to forgive us for things we have done wrong, or maybe things we didn't do that we should of. We can ask God to help us forgive other people too.

We are going to write our prayer today in a way that will help us remember that when we say sorry, God wipes away our sins.

Have you got a magnetic drawing pad like this one? Maybe you've got an etch-a sketch or a blackboard and some chalk? You could write or draw your prayers on paper too.

Take a moment to think of something you want to say sorry for. You can write a sentence, or a word or draw a picture.

When you say sorry to God you can wipe the surface clean, or scrunch up your paper and put it in the bin.

Thank you God that you love us so much that you want us to say sorry so that we can be close to you again.

Amen

Let's sing and dance together about how AWESOME our God is! We've got some Cheeky Pandas to help us today.

We hope you have great week coming up and you can join us again next Sunday for our last episode of The Story Keepers. It looks like even Ben and his family are getting excited about Christmas!

The Story Keepers - Trapped

Hi Story Keepers and welcome to Christchurch Kids. In our episode today, it's Emperor Nero's birthday and Ben and his family find themselves right in the middle of the celebrations. There are cakes to be baked and delivered and their friend Tacticus is faced with a very difficult decision.

Let's watch together.

It's great that we can be Story Keepers too. By watching the video and learning the stories from the Bible we can share them with others and pass them on. Today, maybe it's enough to watch this video. If you would like to find out a bit more, keep reading...

Our BIG question today (and it's a HUGE one) is...

Who Is Jesus?

It's not long now to Christmas! It's a really special time of year and for lots of people Jesus is the baby in the manger in the Christmas Story but this was only the beginning.

In the stories we heard today, Jesus showed his disciples, and us, how truly amazing he was. In the first story Jesus and his disciples went up a mountain and they saw him transformed. This is called the Transfiguration. What do you think Jesus' disciples thought that day?

We also heard the very familiar story of Palm Sunday. When Jesus rode into Jerusalem on that day it was just as the prophets (messengers from God) had said would happen when God's chosen one arrived.

The third story in the today's episode is called the Parable of the Tenants. Jesus told this story to the religious leaders when they asked him who he was. In the parable, God is the owner, the vineyard is God's people and the tenants were the religious leaders. Jesus was the owner's son in the story. He was warning the leaders about what was going to happen next.

The stories that were told in today's episode tell us very clearly that Jesus wasn't just a good man or a wise teacher but that he was the Son of God. We now know what happened on Easter Sunday when Jesus rose from the dead so that we could be forgiven and be friends with God.

Deuteronomy 7 :9

So know that the Lord your God is God. He is the faithful God. He will keep his agreement of love for a thousand lifetimes.

Prayer

For our prayer time today, we are going to look at the Deuteronomy verse above. God is faithful and it says he will keep his agreement of love for a thousand lifetimes. Wow!

Draw a big heart on a piece of paper and draw squiggly lines across the heart creating lots of sections.

In each section write or draw something that shows you God's agreement of love with you. Maybe that is your family who love you. Maybe it is a favourite Bible verse. Maybe it is a person who you can talk to about anything.

Spend a quiet moment looking at all the things in the heart and thanking God for them. We can also say sorry to God for the times we forget about his love for us and others. We can ask for his help to share that love with others.

Today, we've got one of our favourite F@CT songs. Let's sing loudly that we know our God is a GREAT BIG GOD!

Thanks for joining us on Christchurch Kids today. We hope you have a great week and we'll be back here next week with more adventures with the Story Keepers.

The Story Keepers - Sink or Swim

Hello Story Keepers and welcome to Christchurch Kids. Today's episode is called "Sink or Swim" and the Story Keepers meet an old friend. When they hear his story, they decide to take action and go and help where they can but, once again, things don't go as smoothly as they expected.

It's great that we can be Story Keepers too. By watching the video and learning the stories from the Bible we can share them with others and pass them on. Today, maybe it's enough to watch this video. If you would like to find out a bit more, keep reading...

Our BIG question today is...

How do we react when something unexpected happens?

In the episode of The Story Keepers today, the family find themselves aboard a Roman ship setting sail for battle! They were not expecting that to happen when they went on board to bring bread to the slaves. Did you notice that Ben and Helena didn't hide and try to escape but went to the kitchen to help feed the hungry slaves instead.

Ben told the story of the four men who brought their friend to see Jesus to ask him to heal him. When they got there, there was such a huge crowd that they couldn't even get close to Jesus. They weren't expecting that but they knew it was so important for their friend to get to Jesus that they climbed up on to the roof and lowered their friend down into the house on his mat.

This was such an extraordinary thing to do that the story appears in the books of Mark and Luke in the Bible and we are still talking about nearly 2000 years later! They were friends who did something unusual in an unexpected situation because they really believed Jesus could help their friend.

What does this mean for us?

I think everyone could say that this year has been unexpected. We've had lots of unexpected things happen. Maybe some of those things have been really hard, like when we haven't been able to see friends or family. Perhaps some of those unexpected things have been good, such as spending more time together with our close family and finding new ways to have fun together.

At church, we have found new ways to help each other. We have been sharing food with those who need it. We have been speaking to each other online or on the phone. We have sent cards in the post.

In the parable of the two builders that we heard in today's episode, Jesus said that those people who listen to him and make a choice to do something are like the man who built his house on the rock. If we listen to what God says and make a choice to follow him, when unexpected things happen, we know we can trust Him and He will help us to help people around us.

Psalm 18 :2

The Lord is my rock, my protection, my Savior.
    My God is my rock.
I can run to him for safety.
He is my shield and my saving strength, my high tower

Prayer

Today, it's Remembrance Sunday. It's the special day of the year when we remember those who have served in wars to help keep others safe. Just like we have been talking about today, they found themselves in unexpected situations and showed bravery to help others.

We can use a poppy to help us pray. You may have your own poppy or your can look at the one here

Look at your poppy.

Poppies are bright and cheerful flowers: give thanks to God for the lives of those who have died in war, remembering all the joy they brought to families and friends, and all the good things they did for their home and their country.

Then look at the red petals

Red reminds us of danger and harm. Ask God to be close to those who are still facing danger each day, to give courage to the armed forces, and compassion to all who help others.

Place your whole hand over the poppy

Poppies are also fragile and need to be handled gently. God cares for those who are hurting and those who are sad. Ask God to comfort all who are grieving the loss of someone they love.

Finally place a finger on the centre of the poppy.

Ask God to help you play your part in working for peace in the world.

We've got a new song today. We can join in with the words or the actions as we praise God for who He is.

Thanks for joining us today. We are already starting to get excited about Christmas and we are going to be putting together our own online Nativity! If you would like to play a part, email Emy this week and let her know. childrenandfamilies@christchurch-clevedon.org.uk

We'll see you next week for more adventures with The Story Keepers.

The Story Keepers - Roar In The Night

Hello Story Keepers and welcome back to Christchurch Kids. We have an exciting episode to watch together today called "Roar in the Night". Marcus finds some lion cubs hiding in the stable and it looks like it might lead them into a dangerous situation...

It's great that we can be Story Keepers too. By watching the video and learning the stories from the Bible we can share them with others and pass them on. Today, maybe it's enough to watch this video. If you would like to find out a bit more, keep reading...

Our  BIG question today is...

When we do a little, kind thing, does it really make a difference?

In today's episode we saw lots of people working together, each playing a part to help save the lion cubs: Marcus looked after them in the barn; the family went to see the circus master; the circus master introduced them to the ship's captain and the ship's captain took the lion family home. Each of these actions on their own wouldn't have helped as much as putting them all together.

When we do a small, kind thing for someone, we might not know how much that helps them by the end of the day but God knows. He can use our little acts and help them work together to achieve good things.

In the story we heard today, Jesus told the disciples about the woman who brought her two coins to the temple. She didn't bring as much as others but it was all she had. God could see her heart and knew she loved him so much by doing all she could.

Psalm 139 tells us that God knows our thoughts. He knows what is in our hearts.

Lord, you have examined me.
    You know all about me.
You know when I sit down and when I get up.
You know my thoughts before I think them.
You know where I go and where I lie down.
You know well everything I do.
Lord, even before I say a word,
you already know what I am going to say.

Psalm 139 : 1-4

When we do small, kind things for other people, we are showing God that we love him. He can use those actions to make amazing things happen.

You can hear the whole of Psalm 139 here

A secret sign

Did you notice the secret sign in today's episode? The ship's captain drew a line in the dust on the table and Ben drew another line to make a fish symbol like this...

This is called the "ichthys". It was a secret symbol that early Christians used to communicate to each other when the Romans were trying to stop them. It was used to mark meeting places and when two people met they took it in turns to draw the two lines of the fish to show that they were Christians - just like in the episode today.

The early Christians took the first letters from the phrase "Jesus Christ, God's Son, Saviour" in Greek and this spelled out ICHTHYS, which is Greek for fish.

Christians still use the fish symbol today as a sign of their faith. Maybe you could make your own Ichthys symbol today. You could draw it on a piece of paper and decorate it. You could arrange some sticks or leaves when you go for a walk to leave a symbol for another Christian to find.

Prayer

We are continuing our October prayers about being thankful today. Can you think of something to say thank you for for every letter of the words THANK YOU? This is called an acrostic - just like the Ichthys symbol.

Here's my prayer. What does your prayer look like?

Thank you God for

Tortoises - who go slowly but get there in the end
Helping others - for people who help others in our town
Avocadoes - they're really yummy
Night time - for a comfy bed to sleep in
Kindness - for my kind friends
Yoghurts - they're so yummy too
Oranges - for delicious juice for my breakfast
Umbrellas - for keeping me dry in the rain

Amen

We've got a song today about how God knows us and loves us. Have a listen, you can sing along and have a little dance too.

We hope you all have a great half term. Come back here next week for F@CT online or you can now join us at Christchurch for F@CT at church.

F@CT will look a little different in the church at the moment but we will still be having lots of fun and learning about God.

Here are some of the ways that it will be a different:
  • Anyone over the age of 10 will be wearing a face covering unless they are medically exempt.
  • We will be sanitising our hands.
  • We won't be having our usual pastries and drinks.
  • We will be sitting in "Sheep Pens" with our families!( These will be tables and chairs but we are calling them Sheep Pens and you will have a sheep to make friends with). We will stay in our Sheep Pens to keep a distance from other families.
  • We won't be able to sing but we will have lots of fun joining in with actions.
  • Each Sheep Pen will have it's own set of resources as we will still be making things to help us learn about our story.

The Story Keepers - Episode 5

Hello everyone and welcome to another action packed adventure with The Story Keepers. We have lots of unexpected twists and turns in today's episode. We hope you enjoy watching it.

(Some of you may notice that this episode is labelled Episode 8, but it matches with the week 5 worksheets in our activity book)

It's great that we can be Story Keepers too. By watching the video and learning the stories from the Bible we can share them with others and pass them on. Today, maybe it's enough to watch this video. If you would like to find out a bit more, keep reading...

There is a page for you to have a look at all about Episode 5 in the back of your Story Keepers Activity booklets.

Our  BIG question today is...

What is God's unexpected Good News for us?

In today's episode so many unexpected things happened.

  • Justin didn't think very highly of Cyrus' circus skills but they helped save the children from the Roman soldiers.
  • Cyrus thought he was going to treated badly by Flavius but he was treated like a prince... to start with.
  • It was very unexpected that Cyrus chose to stay with Flavius when Ben and the family come to rescue him.
Did you think it was unexpected when the Story Keepers forgave Cyrus and Justin gave him his cloak?

Today we heard the parable of the Prodigal Son. A parable was a story Jesus told that tells us more about God. What does this parable tell us about God?

In this parable, God is the father and we are like the Prodigal Son. Every day we get things wrong, choosing to go our own way instead of relying on God. When we say sorry and turn back to God, He is always there waiting for us, running towards us for a big hug.
This is the unexpected good news.

We will all get things wrong, because everyone does, but God will always forgive us. He doesn't just "forgive and forget" - it's even bigger than that. God came up with a rescue plan and that plan was Jesus. When Jesus died, he took the punishment for all the things we had done wrong. God loves us so much that his Son died for us - and then came back to life three days later!

This is sometimes called the gospel, which means GOOD NEWS.

This video explains that Good News really well...

Prayer

This month we are looking at Thankfulness in our prayers. We can say a huge THANK YOU to God for sending Jesus to be our rescuer.

If you want, you can say a special prayer that invites Jesus to be your friend forever. This is what we mean when someone says that they are a Christian. It means that they have prayed that special prayer.

There aren't any special words to become a Christian and you can talk to God about it using your own words. These words are an example of the prayer that you could pray.

Jesus – I know that you made me and want me to obey you with all my heart.

I know I have disobeyed and wanted to go my own wayI have thought and done things against your directions. I am sorry.

I know that you gave up your life to save me from these sins and make me your child again.

I accept your promises and ask you to please save me now and forever.

Amen.

God's Good News is so amazing it makes us want to jump up and down and spin right around!

We can do that right now this song!

We hope you all have a fantastic week and we'll be back next Sunday with more adventures with the The Story Keepers.

The Story Keepers - Episode 4

Hello and welcome to Christchurch Kids. This week we are continuing to follow the adventures of The Story Keepers. This week's episode is called 'Ready, Aim, Fire' and the the Story Keepers are in danger from the Romans again . Can Tacticus get the warning message to them in time?

You can watch Episode 4 here...

It's great that we can be Story Keepers too. By watching the video and learning the stories from the Bible we can share them with others and pass them on. Today, maybe it's enough to watch this video. If you would like to find out a bit more, keep reading...

There is a page for you to have a look at all about Episode 4 in the back of your Story Keepers Activity booklets.

Our BIG question today is...

When things are difficult, do we find it easy to trust God to help us?

In the episode today,  things got very difficult for the Story Keepers when they found themselves in serious danger. Zak was also having a difficult time as he was worrying that his uncle wouldn't think he was brave enough.

In today's stories we hear about some more difficult situations. Bartimaeus was blind and he wanted Jesus to heal him. He shouted for Jesus, even when those around him told him to be quiet, as he trusted that Jesus would help him.

Jesus knew it was the right thing to heal the man with the paralysed hand but the Pharisees made it difficult for people to do good things on the Sabbath. Jesus trusted God that it was right to heal the man even if it got him in trouble.

It's not always easy to trust God when things are tricky but we can remember His promises in the Bible to help us.

In Deuteronomy 31:8, the Bible says...

The Lord himself will go before you. He will be with you. He will not leave you or forget you. Don’t be afraid. Don’t worry.

Prayer

October is the time in the church when we celebrate Harvest. It's when we are thankful for all the amazing things that God has given us. We are going to be thinking about thankfulness in our prayers this month.

Here's a great thankful prayer that we can say together

Thank you God for all that grows,

Thank you for the sky's rainbows,

Thank you for the stars that shine,

Thank you for these friends of mine,

Thank you for the moon and sun,

Thank you God for all you've done!

Can you think of any other rhyming pairs of things that we can say "THANK YOU" to God for?

Our song today reminds us that we can be brave in difficult situations because God loves us.

We hope you all have a great week and we hope you can join us here again next week for more adventures with The Story Keepers.

The Story Keepers - Episode 3

Hello Story Keepers and welcome to Christchurch Kids! We hope you've had a great week. Today's episode of The Story Keepers is called "Catacomb Rescue". The catacombs are underground passageways in Rome and you can still see them today. They would have been a great place to escape from the Roman soldiers.

Here's Episode 3...

It's great that we can be Story Keepers too. By watching the video and learning the stories from the Bible we can share them with others and pass them on. Today, maybe it's enough to watch this video. If you would like to find out a bit more, keep reading...

There is a page for you to have a look at all about Episode 3 in the back of your Story Keepers Activity booklets.

In today's episode we heard three stories from the Bible. They were stories that Jesus told called "parables". They were stories that had a special meaning.

The Good Samaritan
The Parable of the Sower
The Unforgiving Servant

Jesus told us to love and help each other and our enemies. That can be really hard sometimes. For The Story Keepers it included showing love to Nero and and those Roman soldiers who were out to get them (not all Roman soldiers were their enemies). The children in the episode choose to show love to a Roman soldier by saving him in the tunnel. How do you think the Roman soldier felt about Christians after the children helped him?

Our BIG question today is...
How can we show love to people that we find it difficult to get along with?

Prayer

In the story of the Good Samaritan today we heard about showing people love who are different to us.

We have our last Sunday today looking at the work of Open Doors. Here's a video about how the charity got started and it all started with Brother Andrew who wanted to help other people.

Open Doors have made some fantastic colouring pages. Maybe you would like to print one and colour it in. You could put it up in your house to remind you to pray for Christians around the world.

Our song today reminds that God's love is BIG! It's big enough for everyone!...

Thanks for joining us today . We'll be back here next Sunday with F@CT Online but we will also have F@CT in church too.
