How to make your guessing game

How to make your own guessing game

You will need:
  • ·         3 x sheets plain A4 paper
  • ·         A ruler, scissors, gluestick
  • ·         Felt tips pens or coloured pencils
  • ·         Two sheets of card slightly bigger than A4 (I used card from a cereal box)
  • ·         3 x A4 backing paper (I used old magazine pages)

1) Divide your A4 paper into 16 sections. The easiest way to do this is to fold it in half vertically and then in half again and to do the same horizontally. Unfold the paper and repeat with the other  pieces of A4. Use a ruler to draw lines on the folds. On each row, draw another line approx. 1cm from the base line. This will create the flap to stick down to the base. Do this for 2 of the pieces of paper but leave the third.

2) Draw the faces of the people in each section on the first piece of paper. Give them all a name. I used a 2p coin to draw the circle for the face. Make each character different. You can add different...
  • ·         ... colour eyes
  • ·         ... size noses
  • ·         ... mouth shapes
  • ·         ... hair colours
  • ·         ... hair styles
  • ·         ...beards and moustaches
  • ·         ... hats and glasses

 3) Copy your characters onto the other two pieces of paper. I found that you could see the felt tip pen through the paper so I stuck some magazine pages to the back of the paper before cutting it up. Cut up two sheets, with the flaps, fold the flaps over and glue the characters down to the card base. make sure that they are spaced apart enough to be able to be folded down.

4) Cut up the third piece of paper to become the cards you need to select your character.

5) Play the game! Pick a character card and keep it secret. Start asking questions to try to find out who your opponent has chosen. When you have eliminated someone, fold them down on the board. Eventually, only one person will be left - this will be your opponent's character.
